ARM chip with integrated cryptographic engine

Recommended Posts

Microchip has announced their first device featuring an 32-bit ARM chip with integrated cryptographic engine, based on a Cortex-M4 core. The CEC1302 microcontroller supports public key encryption, symmetric key encryption, secure hashing and random number generating. Before executing code it validates a digital signature encoded with PKCS #1. The signature uses RSA-2048 encryption and SHA-256 hashing. A toolchain to support the CEC1302 is available from MikroElektronika.
